Tony Dodds is a quintessential New Zealand 'southern man'. Growing up in Wanaka with a father who works as a commercial hunting guide, the man known by all as 'Doddsy' salt of the earth character with a smile never far from his face.
He first raced at ITU level in 2005 but can go back much further for his first taste of the sport when as a six year old he participated in the iconic Weet-Bix Tryathlon Series. As a child Dodds was typical of those growing up in New Zealand, playing rugby, tennis and water polo.
