Glasgow was the second Commonwealth Games for Tim, a campaign that saw him come away with bronze in the 100kg men's division and further cement his place as a strong contender in international judo competitions. Tim joined fellow judoka Jason Koster on the podium for the bronze medal placing. The 39-year-old has moved up the weight divisions from his 81kg competition at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.

He attended the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games where he placed 18th and then went on to earn bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Tim has a current World Ranking of 26th and his Commonwealth Ranking is 3rd for his weight category. Tim is the 2013 Hong Kong International Champion and placed 2nd at the 2014 World Cup OJU.
