One of the first kiwis to blaze the now well-worn trail to professional football via the American collegiate system, the former LA Galaxy and Fulham FC player finally gets a chance of Olympic success after his 1996 U-23 side were pipped on goal difference by Australia for a spot in Atlanta despite Simon's eight goal spree in as many games.
