Shakira Baker won a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the women's rugby sevens team.

Baker's physical dominance coupled with her experience as an established member of the sevens squad and the Black Ferns, makes her devastating on the field and invaluable in pressure situations. She debuted for Wellington at 16-years old, was a former Hurricanes Secondary School player and played in the team's first tournament win at the Oceania Sevens.
