Ryan joins the New Zealand 2016 Olympic Team as one of the more experienced athletes heading to Rio, having competed at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, as well as London 2012 and three Commonwealth Games.

The 36-year-old from Levin is employed in the family business, Taylor Construction, and has been competing internationally for eighteen years.
