Rebecca is a 17 year old student from Oxford Area School representing New Zealand at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

How did you get into your sport? I idolised Katniss Everdeen when I watched The Hunger Games. I wanted shoot like she did. I joined an archery club with my school friend 5 1/2 years ago, and loved it more than I expected, from the very beginning.

What do you love about the sport? The environments I get to shoot in and the people I meet through the sport. Archery pushes both body and mind.

What inspires you? My goals in the sport and my coach because of the passion and hard work he puts into helping me achieve my goals and the sport in general.

Career highlight: Shooting the 720 at Trans-Tasman 2018. I shot like I've never shot before and it felt amazing! And now also qualifying for the Youth Olympic Games.
