Nikki has competed at two Commonwealth Games and three IAAF World Championships; Rio will be her first Olympic Games.

A double silver medallist at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, Nikki has since struggled with an injury, keeping her out of the London Olympics, but she has bounced back and ran in the 5000m at the Beijing 2015 World Championships.
