Glasgow 2014 will be the first Commonwealth Games for Nikita who will be compete in the S8 100m freestyle event. Nikita made history when she became New Zealand's youngest ever Paralympian at just 13 years old when she attended the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. She she placed 6th in the 200m IM, 9th in the 100m breaststroke and 11th in the 50m butterfly event. In 2013 Nikita placed 3rd in the 50m butterfly and 1st in the 200m IM at the IPC World Championships.
