Following a breakthrough year in 2016, talented young defender Michaela Sokolich-Beatson has continued to enhance her credentials in leaps and bounds.

A product of Whangaparoa College, Sokolich-Beatson was first chosen for the Mystics in 2016 and will be back for her third year in 2018. 

An outstanding athlete, Sokolich-Beatson is a tireless and effective defender. She has developed strong leadership skills after captaining the triumphant NZU21 team to the Netball World Youth Cup title in Botswana last year, and is poised to leave her mark at a higher level now being selected for the Silver Ferns team to represent NZ at 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
