18-year-old Michael will be representing New Zealand in Swimming at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. Michael has also represented New Zealand at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Man, where he placed 3rd. He is a student at St Peter's College in Auckland and a member of the Waterhole Swim Club. Michael started swimming in 2002 and so far his sporting highlights include becoming the 2013 NZ Open 1500m freestyle Champion and qualifying for the 2013 World Junior Championships. Michael's favourite quote is, “Whether you think you can or you think you can't your right.”
