18-year-old Mackenzie will be representing New Zealand in Men’s Hockey at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. He is a student at Napier Boys’ High School and began playing at age six. Mackenzie says that so far his sporting highlight has been winning gold at the Youth Games qualifier in Vanuatu. His role model is Jamie Dwyer and his favourite quote is, “Hard work always beats talent when talent refuses to work hard.”
