Kasib is a 17-year-old student of Kaikorai Valley College that will be competing in Boxing at the Buenos Aires 2018 Olympic Youth Games.

Career Highlight: Winning gold at the Australian golden gloves in 2017 against their 3x national champion, and now making the team for the Youth Olympic Games.

How did you get into your sport? My older brother Shem is an MMA fighter, I was too young to do that so I started with wrestling and then moved onto boxing a few years ago.

What do you love about the sport? After putting everything into my training to be the best I can be physically and mentally I love when it's finally time to get in the ring with my opponent and successfully implement my fight plan.

What inspires you? I'm really lucky to have a lot of positive role models in my corner and in my life that inspire me every day. I also love watching professional fighters for inspiration, I want to be the best I can be in boxing and in life.

What are you hoping to get out of the Youth Olympic Games? Travelling to Buenos Aires with the New Zealand team will be an awesome experience that will help me grow as a boxer, and of course I'm hoping to bring home a medal
