Gayle Broughton won a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as part of the women's rugby sevens team.

Broughton is an exciting player with masterful footwork and the ability to set a match alight. Born and raised in Taranaki, Broughton honed her skills on the touch field before joining the Black Ferns Sevens as an 18-year-old in 2014.
