Ed came to New Zealand in 1994 to play in the NBL and has consistently been one of the outstanding post players. Outstanding Kiwi Forward in 2002 and named to the All-Star Five both years. He debuted for New Zealand against China in 2002. Book was a hero of the world championship campaign, stepping into a starting role when NBA forward Sean Marks was injured. His three-point ability makes him a difficult match for opposing centres.
