Taupo eventer Briar Burnett-Grant has gone from strength to strength in her burgeoning equestrian career.
Aged just 17 Burnett-Grant saw off competition from far more experienced riders to win the prestigious Horse of the Year Olympic Cup in early 2018.
While that win was a career highlight it isn't the teenagers only notable result. Burnett-Grant won an individual gold at the Future Star Youth Competition in China in 2015 and an individual bronze in Korea. As the youngest at the Children's FEI competition in Mexico in 2017 she placed fifth out of 36, and has also been on Trans Tasman young rider teams.
Burnett-Grant will be 18 years old at the time of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
