Bill Tinnock is a New Zealand rower that competed at the 1950 British Empire Games winning a silver medal as part of the men's eight crew together with Donald Adam, Kerry Ashby, Murray Ashby, Bruce Culpan, Thomas Engel, Grahame Jarratt, Don Rowlands and Edwin Smith.

Bill's success continued with his selection for the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games where he joined the crew for the men’s coxed four together with Kerry Ashby, Ted Johnson, Hector McLeod and John O'Brien.
