Bevan Hari

A veteran of over 200 tests, Hari is a highly accomplished and extremely competitive striker who at 33 still causes international defences trouble. Born in Rotorua, he made his debut for New Zealand in 1997 against Malaysia. In Bevan's 11 years in the Black Sticks he rates Australia as his toughest opponent and Dean Butler and Bevan George as the toughest players he has played. Hari was an integral part of the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games silver medal team and was there again when the Black Sticks beat Argentina in the final of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. He has played in the World Cup, Olympics and Commonwealth Games – something not a lot of players achieve.
