Akash Khullar

Akash will contest the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in the 74kg category.

The 27 year old has won several medals in his wrestling career both in New Zealand and overseas. His top career achievement remains winning the gold medal in the recent Oceania Cup 2017 in Tahiti. He has also represented New Zealand in wrestling during the 2017 World Championships and Commonwealth Championships. 

Akash was born in northern India and moved to New Zealand in 2015. He became a New Zealand Citizen in 2017. Now based in Palmerston North, Akash trains under his coach Scott Lawrenson.
