Spoken like a true kiwi - Tom Walsh speaks frankly about his bronze medal win at the World Indoor Championships. "I'm writing my latest blog, the morning after the night before. The evening when I won a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships and set an Oceania indoor record of 21.26m. To even write those words is still so surreal. I can't believe I was standing on that podium at the medal ceremony seeing the New Zealand flag raised.... I came here for the experience and a top eight spot in my first major competition, it really is amazing. Interest in me, which I still struggle to comprehend, has gone through the roof since winning bronze. After the competition I was conducting three ten-minute media phone interviews and when I got off the phone I had 15 missed calls. I haven't even checked Facebook yet, I'm too scared! It might take a bit more time before I dare to log on. I wasn't sure when my final throw landed whether it was good enough for bronze, which at that stage was held by Tomasz Majewski with 21.04m. Thankfully, it was and once the distance flashed up that I'd thrown 21.26m - the best throw of my life in the biggest competition of my life – I couldn't quite believe it." Read the full blog below:
